大熊猫百分之九十九的食物是竹子。大熊猫能吃的竹子有12属，60多种。大熊猫吃东西的样子是极为可笑的。它先慢慢地爬上竹子，伸出一只大手抓住一根竹枝，接下来，坐在树杈上津津有味地吃起来。过了一会等它吃完了，就慢慢地爬到河边，把腰弯下来，嘴巴伸进河里。大口大口的喝起水来。就像小朋友们一样饭后要喝水。那样子仿佛在说“啊，这里的水可真好喝呀。”
