雾都孤儿英语读后感篇1

oliver twist is a realistic novel written by charles dickens. the novel is set in foggy london in the 19th century and tells the story of olivers life experience and growth. at the same time, as an example of social novels, it reveals other real social problems in the 19th century, such as child labor, juvenile delinquency and so on.

there is a plot in the article that makes people feel deeply. oliver is taken to the gathering place of thieves. the men who dominate the group praise the death penalty in front of expensive watches and jewelry. it seems hard to understand why the lawbreakers are not afraid of death penalty. this is related to the defects of the law at that time. confession can not change the fate of being hanged, so the criminals who go to the execution ground will not choose to let the truth as a result, these young people are free from slavery.

oliver, the protagonist in the novel, was originally a simple teenager, because he had to mix with a group of juvenile delinquents for survival. regardless of the later turning point of the novel, if oliver had been living with this group of people and learning their "technology", his life would surely go dark. although these are related to the complex background of london in the 19th century, we should still be vigilant that similar phenomena still exist in our society.

caring for the physical and mental health of teenagers requires the joint efforts of all our citizens. like the old gentleman in the novel, a little help and a simple helping hand may change a persons future.

雾都孤儿英语读后感篇3

these days, i finished reading a book, called "oliver twist"

"oliver twist" is one of the biggest british novelist, charles dickens's 1838 novel, is also one of his representative works.

this book reflects the early 19th century british society at the bottom of the life, the hero oliver, let me very sympathetic to the sad. he was 11 years old, but in life, every day do not have enough to eat and wear not warm, and a few times go den, but he didn't and they together crime, would rather tortured colluding with them, and with a strong will to resist the bad bullying and temptation, later merry lady saved oliver, and took him in. after a period of time, and oliver lived a happy life.

after read this book, my heart can't be calm once in a long time, the heroine's age and i like big, but, compared with his, our life is how of happiness, but we still don't meet, meet a little difficult, give up, lack of willpower. i want to learn oliver, strong quality, overcome all difficulties and obstacles, to cherish everything now, study hard, become a useful person to society.

雾都孤儿英语读后感篇4

growing up in solitude and struggling in pain, this is oliver twist, an orphan in foggy city written by charles dickens.

oliver grew up in a workhouse. he never felt the warmth of his mothers love and family. he always lived in hell. at the age of nine, mr. bumble sent him to the home of a mortician named sulbury as an assistant, but it was no better or worse than the workhouse, so oliver could not bear the inhumane life and fled here, ready to go to the "fog city" - london.

when he arrived in london, he met two evil doers, one was the robber sikes, the other was the thief fagin. later fagin wanted to train him to be a thief, because he became a thief, and the mystery of his life was also revealed.

olivers coming to london is not necessarily a good thing, but it must not be a bad thing. because although he met fagin, he also met many good people: nancy, who is also good and evil, mr. brownlow, who is kind-hearted

this book describes an optimistic oliver, no matter the orphans life or his lonely and painful childhood, he doesnt complain. and we have a warm family from birth to now, but every day is full of all kinds of complaints, we should be like him, "no complaints, no complaints".

雾都孤儿英语读后感篇5

this summer vacation, i read the book "orphan fog city". after reading it, i feel that the sentence it wrote is simple and the content is touching.

its about the protagonist oliver tuxton, the illegitimate son of a wealthy family in the upper class. his young mother gave birth to him in the parish poorhouse and died. he led a hellish life in the workhouse. at the age of nine, he was bought as an apprentice in a coffin shop. after suffering a beating, he fled to london, and on his way into the den of thieves. after a series of tribulations, little oliver finally came back to his family.

little oliver, the hero, is very kind and free from bad thoughts. thats the main reason why he can finally live a happy life. if we change some people who are not good at heart, maybe he has become a robber. we should be kind and resist foreign bad thoughts, only in this way can we become a person that everyone admires!

the book "orphan fog city" has given me great enlightenment: people should be kind and pure, good people can have good returns!

雾都孤儿英语读后感篇6

learn to love and care here i am sitting on a couch alone thinking about what i have just finished reading with tears of sadness filling my eyes and fire of indignation filling my heart which revived my exhausted soul that has already been covered by the cruelty and the selfishness of the secular world for a long time. it is truly what i felt after reading oliver twist written by the prominent british author charles dickens. the resonance between me and the book makes me feel not only the kindness and the wickedness of all the characters in the novel but what this aloof society lacks and what i lack deep inside. these supreme resources i’m talking about right now are somewhat different from minerals oil that we usually mention. they’re abstract like feelings and some kinds of spiritual stimulation that all of us desire anxiously from one another —— love and care.

those charitable figures whom dickens created in the novel are really what we need in life. they showed love and care to others just as the gentle rain from the sky fell upon the earth which was carved into my heart deeply. mr. brownlow is one such person. the other day he had one of his elaborate watches stolen by two skilled teenage thieves artful dodger and charley bates and thought naturally it was oliver who was an orphan and forced to live with a gang of thieves that had done it because he was the only one near by after the theft had taken place. being wrathful he caught oliver and sent him to the police station where the ill-tempered unfair magistrates worked. fortunately for him oliver was proved innocent by one onlooker afterwards. with sympathy mr. brownlow took the injured poor oliver to his own home. there oliver lived freely and gleefully for some months as if he were mr. brownlow’s own son. one day however mr. brownlow asked oliver to return some books to the bookseller and to send some money for the new books that he had already collected. the thief oliver once stayed with kidnapped him. after that he disappeared in mr. brownlow’s life. searching for a while mr. brownlow had to believe the fact that he had run away with his money. but dramatically they came across each other again a few years later.

without hesitation mr. brownlow took oliver home for the second time not caring if he had done something evil. perhaps most of us would feel confused about mr. brownlow’s reaction. but as a matter of fact this is just the lesson we should learn from him. jesus said in the bible. “forgive not seven times but seventy-times seven.” why is that? because forgiveness is our ability to remove negative thoughts and neutralize them so our energy may be spent on doing what we came here for. we cannot move forward in our future if past issues cloud our thinking. stop put mr. brownlow into the list of your models. always give people a second chance no matter what they might have done. that’s also a substantial part of loving and caring others.
