英文胡读后感篇1

i don’t remember the exact year i first read the little prince . though the golden snake in the book plays a cameo role , i never forget the scene that he flashed kissed gently on the little prince’s ankle. it made me be afraid to reread this book.

later, i listened a michael wong’s song named fairy-tale story, the prince in his song is different from the prince in the little prince, the prince in the song is the same as andersen’s tales’ princes, they all have happy endings.

however, i think the little prince is a sad story. there is a saying: there are a thousand hamlets in a thousand peoples eyes. now, let me talk about my reading feeling. this simple story flies over every corner of the world: a pilot (the narrator) who had an accident with his plane and crashed in the desert of sahara then he met the little prince from the planet b-612, and the narrator listened little prince’s travel experience of seven planets. on the seven planets, he met a variety of persons. they are the king, the conceited man, the businessman, the tippler, the lamplighter, the geographer and so on.

the little prince is a story belongs to adults who have childlike innocence.because children don’t understand the little prince’s deep sadness.this is not so much a fairy tale, as it is a tragedy. this story tells the grow-ups’ world is full of empty, lost and loneliness with kids’ perspective. among the story, the alcoholic is impressive. he was surrounded by a pile of beer bottles when the little prince saw him, and prince asked him why he is drinking, but he answered he want to forget his shame of drinking. this short planet visit plunged little prince into deep puzzled. he think the grow-ups are certainly very, very odd. in kids eyes, beautiful things must look with heart. but the adults pay more attention on things’ appearance that is just a shell and they don’t believe the eyes are blind and the heart is true.

through this story, it also made me understand what’s the love---loves more mineral, more dense, more bitter and more weighty than the earths profoundest matter.

when i first read the little prince, i can’t understand the mean of love and never to think why should the little prince leave alone since he love his rose so deeply. for years, i reread the story and think about it. the simple true was first love. the little prince didn’t know how to love and it was difficult to make him understand the rose’s heart, so it may lead to misunderstanding and hurts from time to time. he leaved his planet because he can not accept the rose and himself.

this is why the little prince don’t know he have to leave : at that time, he had no idea he was in it. the little prince don’t understand the meaning of tame until he met the fox later. then he produced the endless yearning for the roses and realized his responsibility.

"do you want to be domesticated?" for me, this is a profound question. in the book, the little prince met a fox and invited the fox to play with him, but he was refused. the fox told him that he was not tamed. “what does that mean--tame?” little prince asked. the fox answered:” it means to establish ties: to me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. and i have no need of you. and you, on your part, have no need of me. to you, i am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. but if you tame me, then we shall need each other. to me , you will be unique in all the world. to you, i shall be unique in all the world.”

gradually the little prince was beginning to understand, because he remembered his rose and he thought his rose had tamed him. so he chose to go back to his planet in the end. but to the fox, the little prince’s farewell will make her sad, but the hurts because of love, she should learn to accept it gradually. i believe there are full of hurts within serious and true love.

as long as the little prince flied to different planets and met a variety of persons can he understand himself and his rose. so i think traveling is a good way to experience life.

英文胡读后感篇2

the call of the wild is london’s most-read book, and generally considered his best, the most masterpiece of his so-called “early period”。 the story was set in 19th-century klondike gold rush, in which sled dogs were bought at generous prices.

buck was a domestic dog in judge miller’s home and living a comfortable life until he was sold secretly by the poor gardener and became a sled dog. buck was a bernard dog weighed one hundred and forty pounds, tall, strong, and hea一vy muscled. he couldn’t accommodate to the harsh condition at first. and he wanted to fight, to escape, to go back to his cozy home, but in vain.

the man in red taught him the law of stick and club—one must first adjust himself to his surroundings and learn the rules, and only after that he can do what he wants to do. the club of the man in red called back buck’s nature as a dog.

when he firstly served for fran?ois and perrault, two couriers, he showed his superior ability to adapt to the environment and his smartness to learn everything he wanted to learn. curly’s death astonished him and taught him to be cautious. and before he had recovered from the shock caused by the tragic passing of curly, he was harnessed as a sled dog and step by step wanted to be the leader. but the leading dog, spitz, was already an excellent one, who also considered buck as enemy and potential competitor. at last, when spitz once punished him, hurling backward buck, he knew the time had come. he killed spitz and took his place.

when they pulled into dawson, buck was sold as useless thing to three gold diggers, who weren’t veteran in sledding and even didn’t know how to get to their destination. food was eaten up half way. so charles, one of the three, decided to kill buck when he couldn’t get up. however, when he aimed at buck, john thornton sprang upon him, knocked him down and told him that if charles stroke buck, thornton would kill him.

thus, thornton took buck away. he was the only true friend of buck. but buck was a thing of the wild, especially when the calling of wolf from the hills. once when he came back from hills, he found that thornton was killed by indians. what would you do if you were buck when your beloved friend was killed? buck became a nut and killed those headsmen and stayed with thornton for two days and nights, never lea一ving thornton out of his sight. and then a nearby wolf howl captures his ears, and he follows the sound to an approaching wolf pack, battling several of these creatures to prove his worth.

英文胡读后感篇3

guy de maupassant was the child of an unhappy marriage. his mother has been dessccrriibbeedd as neurotic and his father as a man who sought relief from his wife in the arms of other women. perhaps the collapse of his parents marriage engendered de maupassants pessimism, reflected particularly in his stories about infidelity and failed relationships. it certainly influenced his own attitude toward women, which, in turn, affected his creation of characters in stories such as "the necklace."

de maupassants attitude toward women was ambivalent. he was one of few nineteenth-century authors to recognize and celebrate womens sensuality rather than regard it as a sign of corruption. he was also, however, devastatingly cruel to women, whether in his own life or in his fiction. he remended that the french academy mission a treatise on how to "break decently, properly, politely, without noise, scene or violence, with a woman who adores you and with whom you are fed up" (de maupassant in steegmuller, p. 178)。 he scoffed at monogamy, insisting that he could not understand how two women could not be better than one, three better than two, and ten better than three.

英文胡读后感篇4

i have heard of the famous novel the great gatsby for many years. however, until recently have i got the time and mood to read it. as soon as i finish reading, i find my previous unwarranted assumption of it totally wrong.

this is a story about gatsby and his pursuit for the squo;american dreamssquo;。 during the world war one, the poor soldier gatsby fell in love with an upper class girl named daisy. but due to the wide gap between them, daisy decided to marry tom, a man of her class, instead of gatsby. broken-hearted gatsby then held the conviction that money was of the greatest importance. he strongly believed in the squo;american dreamssquo;, which as we all know, advocates that one can achieve whatever he or she likes through continuous efforts. he strived for five years to become a millionaire and bought a villa near daisysquo;s to attract her. he was too addicted to his fantasy to realize that daisy was no longer the lovely girl she used to be. eventually, he was killed because of her crime.

after reading it, something reverberates in my heart. i cansquo;t help thinking of the theme fitzgerald trying to convey. one thing may be the lonely void of peoplesquo;s spiritual world. i am deeply impressed by chapter 3, where a vivid description of a party is given. there were beautiful girls, drunk men, and boisterous crowds there, but none of them perceived the pointless of their lives and the barren of their minds. to see this phenomenon deeper, there were two circumstances underlying it. the first is the lack of dreams. some people, especially the people of the upper class, lived an aimless life. they wasted their time and money and took an indifferent attitude towards life.

they chased for temporary ecstasy but lost their identity in eternity, namely daisy and tom. the second is the misleading of dreams. some others like gatsby, bravely pursued their dreams, yet going to a diverged way unconsciously. they might mix up the concept of a richer life and a happier life, viewing a higher social state and a peaceful fulfilled life as equality. unfortunately, when they were busy chasing their dreams, everything changed with time. when they were anxious about the to-gets, they ignored what they had already had and lost the alert to the constant changes. the excellent use of symbolization illustrates this idea perfectly. the imagery of squo;green lightsquo; is the most important symble which occurred three times in the novel. the green-lightsquo;s obscure in the mist indicates the dim of gatsbysquo;s dreams.

as far as i am concerned, this story can serve as a reminder for us. to live a meaningful life, we should carefully choose some dreams to pursue. and in the process of fulfilling our dreams, we should always be concious about what we really desire. anyhow, only by pursuing the proper dreams can we finally get to the deep springs of happiness.
